History

The Rotary Club of Greenville

Founded in 1916, The Rotary Club of Greenville is the oldest and largest Rotary Club in South Carolina. The club has more than 250 members representing professionals from Greenville’s business, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors. Over the years, the Rotary Club of Greenville helped build the area’s first YMCA, raise funds for local hospital construction and assist needy families through scholarships and donations.

After a successful 26 year run of Roper Mountain Holiday Lights, the club is launching a new fundraiser. Camp the Falls was created to bring the community together to celebrate and enjoy the great outdoors in our beautiful city. Camp the Falls will consist of a one-day camping and outdoor festival on September 8, 2019 followed by a two-day camping event on September 14-15, 2019 where select participants will be able to camp overnight in Greenville’s beautiful Falls Park.

Camp the Falls will benefit Greenville City Parks and Rotary Charities. Rotary Charities supports Greenville Literacy Association, Rotary grants, “Service Above Self” scholarships, and many other annual Rotary programs that serve veterans, teachers, and children.
